I had some old CLI boxes which were giving me some

I guess the other thing I forgot to ask was whether this is when you are
running X, or when you are running the mouse/trackpad in a console.
The other thing, are you running gpm (the text/console mouse driver?)
To find out enter
/sbin/service gpm status

It may be a model specific thing.
Have you done a google search mentioning the specific model etc?
Can you ssh into it when it has hung and look at the logs?
Does the trackpad work without the mouse attached?
