It's the NIS xfer agent... It's brought up by portmapper/ypxfrd.
No big deal, you can disable it by doing a 'chkconfig ypxfrd off' as
root, or find ypxfrd in the mandrake services tool and turn it off.
This probably means you're running portmapper which can probably also be
turned off
I just did a ps axe on my Mandrake 9.1 box, and discovered this:
rpc.ypxfrd
Is it considered harmful? I must confess, the thought of having a rpc.*
running on my machine does worry me.
