I installed Sylpheed 0.5.0 from an .rpm
I ran the app from a terminal. When attempting to compose a new message I get
this in the terminal window...

I spent the last week or so installing various Linux distributions. It
really gets frustrating trying to make it all work.
I installed Slackware 8, Progeny 1.0, Caldera 3.1 and Suse 7.1. All installed
purposely on a machine with a SB16 card and Kingston NIC hooked to a cable
connection. I fig

I used to get this error trying to send e-mail to various domains we build

I'm trying to get my sound working under Slackware 8. I'm using a SB16.
I was getting an IRQ conflict but have elimininated it. However, I get no
sound as I logon to KDE.
I opened xmms in a terminal window and then tried to play an mp3. This is the
error it generated:

I'm far from a Linux guru, so I'm glad to announce that I installed
Slackware 8 and it was pretty damn easy. I am dual booting it with Win2000
Pro and it went flawlessly. Lilo set itself up automagically during the
install. This is on a 20 GB drive, so no more Lilo problems over the 1024th

Is there a particular reason you like Kicq Mike? I tried it recently and it
lacks sorely for features when compared to Licq.
