I went on searching for a solution and found a thread, where I was told to try
it with kdetv. I managed to get the webcam working with kdetv immediately.
This proves that the driver works, so there's only kopete left (which is the
intended purpose).
Do you know how it's possible to us

a luvcview svn repository, at the moment there's 20070512 installed (the
latest I found).
