"Simputer" sur notre ML
J'aimerai avoir l'avis de gens qualifiés sur ce truc, pas tout à fait un
ordinateur, plus qu'un Palm Pilot, fonctionnant sous LL notamment, et qui
m'interresse...

Thanks for your interest in the Simputer project.
Let me start by introducing myself. I am Shashank Garg, Vice President,
Product Development at Encore Software Limited, Bangalore.
Encore is one of the original contributors to the development of the
Simputer and also one of the earliest commercial licensees of the
Simputer platform.
We are now in the process of commercializing the Simputer and we have
an ambitious roadmap for the continued evolution of mobile computing
devices.
Our goal is to continuously extend the platform and provide
cost-effective solutions based on close partnerships with various
software solution providers.
We are also able to provide customized embedded solutions to potential
clients with very specific needs.
While we have been shipping out Simputer Evaluation Kits based on our
current specification to software developers and early adopters, we
have run short of these Evaluation Kits. We are now concentrating on
the new version which will be considerably enhanced over the earlier
evaluation version.
So the next lot of the Simputers Evaluation Kits will be based on our
new commercial version. We expect the first pre-production prototypes
to roll out in end-July or early August, 2002.
