Hi Francis, In more recents versions of Eclipse Luna, that GTK version is "black listed" so it falls back to GTK2. If you build the RCP yourself, you should probably build it for Kepler to be extra safe (-Pplatform-kepler). That said, there are other issues with Luna + GTK3 on 12.04 and 13.10 that

With my SWT-hat on - make sure that you disable menuproxy and scrollbar-overlays (UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=0 LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=0 eclipse). These two have been identified to cause many problems there are people working on fixing them in Ubuntu but I don't know details. If this doesn't fix the problem
