Actually CDT only bumps up feature versions to match. Plug-ins follow API
rules.

Yeah, there are two versions of that plugin that need to be installed at the
same time. Not sure many of our tools know how to deal with that. Interested in
the outcome :)

Yes, it¹s unlikely that all packages will be Java 7. And there was some
frank discussion at the planning council with concerns about dropping Java
6 so early. But in the end, they are letting the projects decide this.
