I would be in favour of this but would like to have the ChangeLog for
git enhanced to be able to create the ChangeLog data during the commit,
skipping the user name and date line.
That would be nice :)

ChangeLog files anyway.
I have been thinking about this for a while, but was prompted by
Andrew's email [1] to send a message to the list.
Changelogs are pain to deal with, they don't automerge, and the
authorship information is redundant.
