If you use a 800k Floppy, which you modified to use in your Lisa, you of
course noticed, that it works and it will be only a 400k after that

Hello everybody,
special greetings to James. It's been a long time since the redrawing of the
schematics...
Now the how-to-do if one wants to use a conventional 1,44 MB super-drive
floppy instead an original built-in 3,5" 400 kB drive of a Lisa; but don't
ask me why one should do this.

Hello Stephen,

You'll need a Computer with a 800k 3.25" floppy to duplicate the disks , so
that they could be read by a Lisa. All machines from 1984 up to August 1989,
like a Mac 128k, Fat Mac 512k, Plus, SE, SE/30, have such a

The favorite error of ancient Lisas with backup-batteries... and
unfortunately also one of the most a-lot-of-work errors.

Hi everybody out there.
All Lisas quite OK ? Best ! So it should be for years and years.
Nothing important today, but I just discovered something for real Macmaniacs
So take your Lisa to the screen, power her on and show the old Lady this

Hi Dan,
if you have a little spare time left, just take a look at this Link.
It's really worth to look at, and it's from a human-user, who "works" with
several computers (about 70), but does not own one WINtel-machine !

Hi everybody out there,
especially James, or everyone who can help me with this strange symptom on a
Lisa 2 (not 2/10 or XL)
When I try to start the Lisa, nothing happens, not even a click from the
speaker or a short glowing lamp in the start button.
I changed the original I/O Board 620-0117 (wit

Hello John,
thanks for posting your link about the Lisa 1.8 A Power-Supply.
This one seems to be one of plenty of identical 1.8 A schematics.
Unfortunately the 1.8 A Power-Supplies which have been manufactured from
1984 and later vary in deed in a lot of details from this schematic. A short

Hi Alex, James and Jim (alphabethical order)
all of you three a happy new year and your Lisa's, too. They 've been

Thanks for Jim's hint to look at applefritter. I tried the link, which was

Hi Alex,
unfortunately I have to notice, that the pot R11 2k Ohm is not the cause for
that little problem I got with the power supply. As I described, I changed
the whole part platine 99P0108-000 (where this pot is mounted on) and I'm
still not able to start the unit. Nevertheles I tried to chang
Hello !
a big THANK's special to Alex.
If the output pot is located at the vertical positioned extra platine

the error, because I replaced the whole platine to check if it could be
this, but no better results. Must be the
Hello everybody out there,
I've a little problem with a defect 1,8 A Switching Power Supply.
It doesn't work! Shame, shame! When I replace it by another the Lisa starts
up, without any problems.
The unit sends the 5V Standby Output, but when pushing the Start-Button
nothing happens, although all
Hello Alex,
be careful, if you have a Lisa1. Handle the old Lady with care, she's much
more worth than a Lisa2. But you can switch the boards for testing, not the
whole rack, it will not fit, but the 3 or 4 boards, by opening carefully the
red, blue and (1 or 2) yellow bar on top of each board.

Hi Alex,
if I read your explanations - and understand that right - I can fist only
say one thing. Don't panic you can kill a Lisa by connecting the Monitor-Out
to a TV. The error is perhaps an unfortunate accident.
To solve your little problem, you will have to tell us a few more details

greater problems. The guy did that at a time, when Computers used to
Have you got some more hints how to go on with your Lisa to get her working
again?
The power supply seems to be in working order, the lamp in the main switch
lights up and the system wants to boot - you can hear the speaker click

Hello Marianna,
I just bought a Mouse for about US 10 $. It came bundled with a Keyboard for
an 128k and an external floppy-drive. All together complete working, but
used, little yellowed but without scratches, I paid 25 $.
Do you search for a Lisa keyboard and mouse or sell one?

Hi Anthony,
I could perhaps help you with your burned-out power supply.
If you want to solve this - might be minor problem - mail me a short
description, what type of supply it is and whether you are able to change
and solder some components. But be aware, it's high voltage and danger risk
