Again, I know you can copy the office tools to the drive but I do not remember how. I ran my Lisa as a dual boot machine with the LisaOS on the Profile and MacWorks+ on the internal HD. I has the entire Lisa office package installed on the ProFile and very rarely used the floppy drive. George

Well, I got it to work, here's what I did in case anyone else runs into this: [The problem btw was the Lisa Office installer didn't recognize an external profile drive plugged into a parallel card on a Lisa 2/10 which had the internal widget drive removed] I took a bad 10mb widget drive, and wen

For that matter... I wonder if the Lisa OS 3.1 might work any better than 3.0? I've seen several sites that claim to have Office 3.1 disk images, but they are all actually version 3.0. I think i can get the Lisa to boot off the profile on the external card port, if I can just install the OS. Pe

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't catch that you were trying to boot off a parallel port card, so changing I/O boards wouldn't have done anything different. (Might have worked if you were trying to boot off the parallel port and for some reason the install disk was looking for the widget instead of se

One thing you might want to do is to get your hands on an I/O board from a plain Lisa 2 - one that doesn't have a built in Widget. The I/O ROM version is what tells the Lisa boot ROM (and probably the OS) that there's a widget. On Thu, 19 Aug 2004, Chris Smolinski wrote: > Hi David, > > Hmm

Chris How about trying the LISA TEST diskette to see if this will format the ProFile drive attached to your parallel card. Believe there is a repair or format utility in Lisa Test. - David Craig Hi David, Hmm, I don't see that option, perhaps I have the wrong version of Lisa Test? The one I have i

I'm in a bit of a bind. I have a working Lisa, and a working ProFile (I can format it using MacWorks). But the Lisa is a 2/10 without an internal Widget HD. So when I try to install Lisa OS, it complains that it can't find a HD, presumably it is looking for the Internal drive. The ProFile is co
