Richard and all, Interesting case. But it is not unprecedented in recent months. To me anyway this points up how poorly ICANN is managing it's SRS registration system for registering Domain names and how the Whois database and system has been compromised as a result. One begins to wonder what benifit ICANN brings to the Internet given this sort of continuing problem sense they have been in existence. I would and have argued that ICANN has, as this situation amongst a host of others exactly the same, that instead of bringing ICANN has detrimented the Internet and the DNS in particular. Others mileage, of course may very. ynfsupport wrote: > Here's an odd one. > > A customer of ours wants to register: thedragonflies.com > and a whois lookup at: nsiregistry.com, yournamefree.com, qwhois.com, > register.com etc > show the domain as being available. > > However, it is shown as not available at www.networksolutions.com and in > the RZF as being assigned to someone on VirtualExpress.net : > ;; ANSWER SECTION: > thedragonflies.com. 1d23h53m47s IN NS NS.VIRTUALEXPRESS.NET. > thedragonflies.com. 1d23h53m47s IN NS NS2.VIRTUALEXPRESS.NET. > > What gives? > > Richard > YourNameFree.com Regards, -- Jeffrey A.
