I turned the pfsense squid on as a transparent proxy solely for the purpose of making use of its web cache.
Downloading a .tar.gz file then results in the file being silently unpacked by squid: wget -S http://.../...tar.gz The file is saved with name .tar.gz but is actually just a .tar. This is repeatable until using --no-cache once. After that the file saved by wget remains a .tar.gz. Is this expected behaviour? It's somewhat inconvenient.
