Well, after I reread my last post, I realized that I would then need some
kind of tool to unhook the solid hook if I did not want to hang off the bow.
Anybody have a suggestion? Maybe I should just drop the anchor. J

They don't appear to be available in the USA... mine is a variation of this
that fits into the end of my boat hook so you might check for boat hook ends or
accessories at your local marine store and see

Indeed. Bo'sun's Supplies has a nice one (

it when there isn't a line on the mooring. I keep the clip shackled to
the end of one of my snubbers.

kind that you can use to hold a broom or a flashlight on a wall - to the

to single hand the boat down to mid-florida and probably have to pick up
a mooring without benefit of a first
What we do is run a line from the boat to the helm area, and long enough to
go back to the cleat, ,pull along side the line in the h2o, hook the line
with your boat hook, (hopefully it has a loop on the end) run your boat
line thru the hook and tie tie it to the bow. This is all assuming you
