I've contacted a friend of mine who runs a non-profit organisation. He's
excited about this but want to make sure he's capable of helping us out. He
has helped me put out my last album and live show with it. He knows what
LMMS is and how important it is to me. I'll pass on any new information

I think the problem is travel for most. I think first thing we need to do
is get ourselves sorted with github and the bug tracker and then organize
sprints online where we meet on irc and if need be use google hangouts or
skype or something of the sort to call other devs if people are willing to

I am glad to see all the recent activity in this list!!
I too am more of a lurker than a contributor, I mainly work on packaging
I think the solutions and suggestions are very valid presented by people

About the problems with stability Tobias talked about: What about having *two*
branches? One instable and one stable? The code which is good enough in the
instable code can be merged (at least git can do it) into the stable code.
Still, enthusiast programmers can have fun with the instable code
Toby have you considered making the master git repo based off the 0.4.x
branch?

Hi,
thank you all for your helpful and diverse input! I also agree with most of
what has been said. Even though I do have time to contribute to LMMS I do
not have the time for being the only primary developer, which has been a
severe problem in the past. It's true that the Git repositories on

Hi,
I want to share my thoughts with you about the name of the program.
When I started using LMMS, I read the name as this:
Linux -> related to a community of "open-source program users", so the
program is free but made with effort
Multi-Media -> actually it is a DAW, so I didn't really understan
The "Play/Pause" button also has problems, which happen because the icon for
this button is updated before the status of the song is changed from "playing"
to "paused" and vice-versa. The same is true for a beat+bassline and piano roll
sequence.

Having a better social aspect and a bigger community will bring more
developers to help with the problems that the program has. Forgetting this
side will make all efforts just available to those who program it and are
up to date
