I think this one is going to get a bit messy but not entirely opopsed...
Here are some requests...
1. Allow double-clicking of the channel number to change it. Mouse
wheels aren't always available, which makes it impossible to change on
certain laptops. My friend copies and pasts the n
I think what is being said is that currently every instrument etc you have to
manually assign to an FX channel in the mixer. What I proposed and Unfa like
was the idea of having a channel auto assigned when adding a new instrument.

Tobiasz,
I still don't entirely understand this... are you suggesting all
instruments funneled through a dedicated channel number in the FX mixer by
default?

Exactly. Go ahead and file a feature request for that. And I am sure you will
get the help you are after.

If what I wore earlier was implemented, then dropping in an instrument
should launch a "find me a unassigned FX mixer strip" function that would
return a number - then the instrument would be assigned there, and when
user renames it, the "auto-rename" feature would automatically keep the

I just hatched an even easier way.
You know how you can rename the instruments in the window where you drag and
drop them to add them to ones project. If you change the name there it should
also change it in the mixer.
This would require each instrument to be automatically assigned to a blank
I think a context menu would still require us to perform extra two clicks
(and extra mouse mileage) for every mixer strip - still too much time
wasted. I think what I've come up with might make people never even touch
mixer strip's names at all.
Before I add a ticket (yes, I'll do it myself!) I wa
+1 I do find things atm very clunk to name FX channels. Go ahead and file an
enhancement request

I like this a context menu would do
Right click FX channel (i.e 01) in instrument window...
- Set FX name to (i.e."0056 Filter Sweep")
- Set FX name to ... (input dialog appears with "0056 Filter Sweep"
prepopulated)
- Open this FX channel in mixer

I've realized that I spend a lot of time taping same names for instruments
and mixer strips.
Could we somehow make it happen automatically?
