I opted for using a rollover that includes 12 in the afternoon
'.'-MM-dd-a
and I was able to confirm it did in fact roll over when I logged an hour
past noon (1pm). More than that, we'll see!

happen at a certain hour, rather than at midnight?

Hello,
I'm using log4j.appender.rotating=org.apache.log4j.DailyRollingFileAppender
on three machines, all set to rotate the log at midnight.
Two of the machines (Windows) restart at 4am daily, and they are rotating
the logs without issue.
One of the machines (OS X) is set to shut down at 10pm and
