Yes, 0.9.8 implies binary compatibility with 0.9.7 which wasn't the
case. The forthcoming version will be 0.10

Look at the ant script that comes with the build, it clearly has an
option to do debug or release builds. Its really easy if you edit the file

I had to build the release version myself from the SVN
head. You have to grab some source for a few other jar files and build
those as well. Schedule a little time for yourself to get it done - it's
not just a click of a button away. The good news is that once you've gone
through the pain

It should usually not be necessary to run autogen,
because the tarball at

everything built and tested fine.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi Chris.
I've had a similar problem...
Maybe my solution works for you:

Hi to all!
As noone had an idea, I fixed this myself.
Perhaps someone needs this solution, too, that's why I'm posting it.
It's quite simple:
In VS 7, when doing a MFC project, goto project - project properties.
Hi,
which source tree did you use, the SVN head or the one at
http://www.littletux.net/log4cxx ?
I just recompiled the dist-tarball
from http://www.littletux.net/log4cxx/log4cxx-0.9.8.tar.gz
using Visual Studio .NET which succeeded fine.

Title: log4cxx 0.9.8
Hmm, windows is simple.
Install ANT and run ant.
On the other two, I would again install
ANT, and strongly suggest GCC.
