Off-topic, but actually, it's very bad to mess around with the
permission in the Internet Services Manager (heretofore ISM).
Those permissions are for people using Front Page extensions or WebDAV,
it has no bearing on the NTFS file permissions. Please do not mess with
the permissions in ISM unless
I currently have an application (non-ASP.NET) that logs to multiple
files and I use essentially the same type of config file that I posted
to you as an example and you posted back.
It works, I know it does because I use it every day.
This is what makes me think that it has something to do with ei
Could you please send me the code, just in case I am
doing something wrong.
Thanks,

Did you use an absolute or relative path? I used "Log\\log.txt" in my
web.config file. If you use an absolute path I'd guess ASP.NET requires
list(/read) rights to all folders in the path used?

Your log4net config looks right, so other than that it's an OS or
ASP.NET config issue or perhaps your code or something.
I'm not too familiar with logging from ASP.NET apps as I haven't had to
do it yet, but perhaps putting the DOMConfigurator.Configure() call in

Hi everybody,
Last time I posted this message nobody seemed to reply. I am about to go
live with the solution as it appears to be working well during our testing
and I was wondering if anybody had any final comments, reasons why I
shouldn't use Log4Net from VB6?
I've made some small improvements

bug in log4net? Or is this feature not yet
implemented?
Please help.
Ronnie.
