Off-topic, but actually, it's very bad to mess around with the permission in the Internet Services Manager (heretofore ISM). Those permissions are for people using Front Page extensions or WebDAV, it has no bearing on the NTFS file permissions. Please do not mess with the permissions in ISM unless

Did you use an absolute or relative path? I used "Log\\log.txt" in my web.config file. If you use an absolute path I'd guess ASP.NET requires list(/read) rights to all folders in the path used? - Dag -Original Message- From: Ronnie Hayden [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, May 28,

Have you tried logging to a subdirectory in your web solution? Create a folder /log and give it write permissions in internet service manager. This might not be secure enough for your needs but should get you started. - Dag -Original Message- From: Ronnie Hayden [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Your log4net config looks right, so other than that it's an OS or ASP.NET config issue or perhaps your code or something. I'm not too familiar with logging from ASP.NET apps as I haven't had to do it yet, but perhaps putting the DOMConfigurator.Configure() call in the Application_Start might not b
