Hi,
Love LTSP, using it to boot Linux on old slow Windows machines (that
unfortunately I cannot remove Windows from).
Question: How can I get the hard drive to spin down (sleep) on the
workstations?
I've tried adding "/sbin/hdparm -S 1 /dev/hda" to etc/rc.local, but it

I would like to ensure that all the ltsp clients are rebooted monthly. Has anyone
tried this? We have 153+ clients. We are using LTSP 3.0.
I am considering adding local app support to our clients so that we can reboot them
remotely, but I am not sure if this will adversely affect our curren

Hello Bryan,
to start right out, I do not own an iopener. From what I see in the

important for the lilo command), containing the files

I guess I'll start from the beginning. I'm a Linux newbie. Setting up
this ltsp cluster is my first linux project. I first ordered a
pre-burned etherboot nic from ltsp and used it to setup a dc on a test

the easiest way is to conect it to the server
every terminal user can use the standard scansoftware.
connecting it to a Terminal is harder, but not impossible,
it is similar to ltsp-so

I've been working with LTSP for 3 years and still have the problem with Floppy access

It's a bit of a waste to have to use floppies/Boot ROM's
Would it work to create a primary parition of +- 2MB for the bootable floppy
image, then use the rest of the HDD for swap ??

Hi Michel,
I am waiting to hear from John Simovic about the config. I know they were using some kind of proprietary protocol, and that it was inefficient. I am hopeful it is not too much trouble to get them working.
I can't wait to hear.
Cheers,

Hi

Yes they are Sun Ray 1's
(see my post) about the present configuration I can't say much. They
connect to a Sun server and they only use it to start a citrix client to an NT
server. So they want to get rid of them and go the NT machine directly with PC
workstations.
