Hi Stuart, hi List!
I was playing with my Mini-ITX 5000 too today, using a Mini-ITX 800 as
Terminal Server (yeah, well, as I said: I was just playing).
Anyway. PXE-E32 TFTP open timeout looks like either TFTP is not
running, or a firewall is blocking access. I would guess it's the
latter. Let
Hi Holger
The only firewall i'm running, is that which gateways out to the net
(192.168.0.1), and does not come between my server 192.168.0.5, and my
Mini-ITX workstation (bedroom 192.168.0.101).
I'm not running iptables on the server (should i?), and tftp appears to
be starting via xinetd. I

When using a PXE Boot Agent, you cannot download the
ltsp kernel initially, you must first download a
network bootstrap program (nbp). The nbp will in turn
download an untagged ltsp kernel.
If the nbp is greater than 32K in size then you will
get the error message you mentioned below.

Stuart,
I must be missing something here: why not use straight pxe stuff
from ltsp? It seems to work for me on over 80 via edens without any
problems. julius

Julius,
I'm confused. I read the pxe howto documentation found on
Do you also have an upgraded dhcpd? (Version 3 is needed according to my
info. At least my EPIA Mini-ITX 5000 works with dhcpd 3.01 and a very simular
setup (although I haven't checked all the codes in your dhcpd.conf)).
dhcpd --version
isc-dhcpd-V3.0pl2
Stuart.

Well, works like a charm over here :-) At least the kernel-booting part! ;-)
The X-Server still refuses to work though (big cross, grey background).

Hi Martin,
Please try electronic component shops for Atmel AT28C256, 28 pins. Some
shops provide burning service.

Not so good here, on my Mini-ITX 5000. I have got one step further by
using the stock PXE configuration. It now says...
Auto Select:
Network Boot
Server IP 192.168.0.5
Your on the good way, so PXE-boot from mini-ITX is working
But then after a long delay, I get the familiar...
Hello All,
I am new to this list and am very interested in the LTSP for a project that I
am researching.
For my systems I would like to modify things so that they could be booted from
a small partition on the terminal machines which will also have a good local
swap partition as well.
