Thanks.

Hello all,
I've got a request that's a bit outside of the normal LTSP stuff.

Hi All,
I am using the IBM NetStation 1000 with LTSP. The server is running the
K12LTSP distro, which uses RH8 and LTSP 3.0. It will boot up, and I can
log onto the server and run apps fine. The problem is how it appears.
The NetStation only has 2 megs of video ram and as a result the desktop

It looks like the PCI scan program in LTSP is incorrectly reporting a
Gigabit Ethernet chipset (82546EB). This chipset is supported by the Intel
e1000 driver. The LTSP configuration program that scans the PCI bus is
incorrectly supporting this PCI device as an e100. My guess is that you are

You might look at the Enhanced Network Block Device (ENBD). We recently
had removeable media support added to it to support floppy and cdrom
devices. This will allow you to remotely access CDROMs and floppies on
your workstations. Should work with formatting them too (floppies, anyway).

Thanks for the information. It worked beautifully.:)

We use LTSP in such a kind of application, but not as far in some details.

Stuart,
just try to use straight pxe stuff from ltsp.org. I have just
plugged in a new via based box into Steve Wright's network that has never
seen one of those things, and the box came right up. The errors suggest
problems with tftpd. Just for kics, try downloding k12osn iso images and

I am using MTools to access floppy. Is there any other Linux way, like

Thanks,
