report success on getting the nforce2 mobo config to successfully boot an
ltsp kernel with PXE.

The version of the kernel shouldn't matter at that point.
Have you installed any additional programs in the /opt/ltsp/i386 tree
that might be linked against a newer glibc ?

Recently I upgraded ltsp-x-core packages for debian from versions 3.0.1 to
3.0.4.
Unfortunately the stations with RIVA TNT2 (Vanta) and ATI mach64 doesn't
running more. The XFree86 (4.2.99) can't recognize the quoted cards.
