LTSP doesn't care what kernel is running on the server. It doesn't
really even have to be Linux.
Keep in mind that whatever is running on the server, the kernel that is
running on the LTSP workstation will still be a 2.4 kernel. That is,
unless you build your own custom 2.6 kernel for the LTSP

Btw. rdesktop is working fine in my school without problemes
Hello,
Does ltsp 4 has any problem with kernel 2.6 ?
I have just installed Mandrake 10 with kernel 2.6.
Will ltsp 4 run ?
I can also install Mandrake 10 with kernel 2.4 if
need be.
Thanks

Hi all,
I am using LTSP-4 and I am having problems with rdesktop and keys not
working correctly. The Insert, Home, End, Delete etc.., the arrow keys
and the num pad do not seem to be working correctly if at all. I looked
around the rdesktop mailing list and found this post

dear all,
for the record, i tried your suggestion of:
#dd if=/dev/*.zdsk of=/dev/hdb
this on a hd with no partitions. it did not work.
then, also created a small partition made active, and tried:
#dd if=/dev/*.zdsk of=/dev/hdb1
did not work.
in both cases the error is the same, the he
Hi Tom,
I agree. However, I have a couple limitations: first, most of
my client machines are going to be across WAN links that will not have
the bandwidth to support TFTP'ing the OS. Secondly, on the server side
we run an all MS shop and my hands are tied in this regard.
Thanks

Matt;
What you are suggesting is doable, but first ask
yourself:
Why not full LTSP?
LTSP has tremendous advantages over distributions
that are stored in the client device. The primary
advantage is that you don't have to perform updates
on each terminal. Updates are performed on the
server.
Hello ltsp-users,
I'm trying to get mythTV running local on the terminal
Is it possible to test such an application locally on the server with
chroot?
thanks for helping

You have /home mounted on the client? That sounds a bit strange. It
should not be.
but i have to mount some other NFS volumes on my thin client
so i add these volumes in /opt/ltsp/i381/etc/fstab
