Hey, guys. Jim McQuillan has yet again done yeoman's duty, not only

He'd like us to review it and send in corrections. We need to check it

The LTSP platform is actually the platform used on the clients. LTSP can be
considered a thin-client distro, it is important for the cli

Hello,
How much RAM is installed in the client? You could be running out of
memory and that is causing X to die.
Try adding the following line to lts.conf for that workstation:
USE_NFS_SWAP= Y
LTSP will create a 64m swapfile. If this solves your problem, you can
either add more RAM to the
Peter,
Do you know for certain that the workstation knows its own hostname?
You can test it by setting SCREEN_01 = shell, and at the bash prompt,
typing 'hostname'.
Try putting the X_MODE_0 line up in the [Default] section, just to see
if it has any effect.
Also, what resolution are you getting

Hi
I am trying to get one of my LTSP clients to use a resolution of
1280x1024 - but I'm unable to get the client to use this resolution.
I've tried to boot the client maching on a Knoppix CD and select a
1280x1024 resolution and this works fine - but I can't seem to get this
to work when the sa

They are trying to use Xvideo to render video. You must turn off this and have
them use the regular drawing method in the settings of the programs (I can
see that at least gmplayer doesn't crash u

Emad,
what kind of mouse are you using ?
If you've specified a psaux mouse, but don't actually have a psaux
mouse, then the Xserver will lock. It will appear that the keyboard
doesn't work, but in fact the whole Xserver is locked up.

Rolf,
I have seen this behavior when the mouse protocol for a non-scroll
wheel mouse (PS/2) is specified as a scroll-wheel mouse (IMPS/2) in
lts.conf.

About 10 of the workstations have the same mouse type (a PS/2 optical

So I just want to thank everyone of the LTSP for their great work and
