Derek,
1) pkill -u $username openoffice
2) Because it is beta? :-)
3) See #2... but seriously, the Oo list would be a better place to ask
about bleeding-edge releases.

One of my clients has OpenOffice.org beta 1.9.79 loaded.
The latest beta over at openoffice.org is version 1.9.95. You could try
to install that one and see if that helps. I haven't tried it in my
setup yet, but I will install it tomorrow to do a little test.

I have tried booting my client from boot rom iso image downloaded
from " rom o matic " for my realtek card . but it doesn't work !!
I transfered it to floppy using both of the below procedure
1) cat eb2-some_name.iso > /dev/fd0
2) dd if=eb2-some_name.iso of=/dev/fd0
Have a look here as well:

You can lock the preferences so a user can not override them in a session.

Don,
Two ways I can think of:
a) Edit Firefox's browser.jar file to remove the preferences item from
the drop down menu.
b) Use iptables to redirect all local connections destined to port 80 to
your squid port.

Hi all
Can anyone confirm this or you were successful with updating ltsptree
package to version 1.11-0 ???
I think there is a bug in ltspadmin utility, version 1.9-0 is considered
newer than 1.11-0. Quick fix is to rename ltsptree-1.11-0 to
ltsptree-1.9-1 and be careful with version numbers.

Greetings,
I have a machine running LTSP, Squid Proxy server and Apache. The
clients are running KDE and can get Firefox. We are not able to allow
access to the internet.
I would like to be able to stop users from changing the proxy server
setting in Firefox. I have made the prefs.js read only, b
