however, doing this:

on the command line for the kernel, because of a wonky interrupt controller on
the terminal mobo.
You should be able to add these by editing:
/tftpboot/lts/2.6.16.1-ltsp-2/pxelinux.cfg/default
and adding:
noapic noacpi
