What distro are you running? Do you start X as an automatic process, or
do you use the startx script?

J,
Using a window manager that doesn't display icons is fine.
The users can still get to the local devices by looking at the 'Drives'
folder in the users home directory. Each local device should have a
sub-folder in that Drives folder.

The stations doesn't open a shell on the LTSP Server.
See my lts.conf:
[Default]
SERVER = tc02
DNS_SERVER = 10.200.201.15
SEARCH_DOMAIN = esplanada
XSERVER = vesa
SCREEN_01 = startx

If you've got the server set up to log them into a shell on one screen
and a desktop on another (which is pretty much the default) then that's
entirely likely. Unless they logged into those shells, however, I
would guess that you have them set to auto-login. Does that sound
correct?

'Top' command always shows double users than i really have in my LTSP

When i use 'w' command i get this:

Folks,
I have repackaged ltsp4.2 as debs.
If you add the following to /etc/apt/sources.list,
deb ftp://ftp.wizzy.com/pub/wizzy/debs dapper binary
And do "apt-get update ; apt-get install ltsp"
you should get a bunch of packages from the server.
I did some small tweaks to ltsp-ltsptr
Hi,
I'm running LTSP 4.2 and allow our library patrons to use openbox on our
public terminals. Is there a good way
to allow access to local devices, actually USB thumbdrive access is all
I need, for a window manager that doesn't
stick icons on the desktop?

I have just had the same issue with this and HP5125 thins. I changed
the kernel on load to one of the 2.6.16 ones and it all worked fine. I

Hallo
I am new to the mailing list although I have used LTSP
before.
I installed ltsp 4.2 from the ISO (all packages). I
then enabled Local apps in lts.conf. I installed some
kde rpm and qt rpm. When I start X I get the messages
that libqt-mt.so.3 is not found. I made an entry in
ld.so.conf and r

beats it under what circumstances? AFAIR, Opterons suitability for LTSP
lies largely in how it handles multitasking/multithreading, so i
