I have a samba acting as a PDC that my Windows boxes can authenticate off
and i was wondering how i could go about having my ltsp thin clients
authenticate off it. I tried messing around with Pam and windbind and
didn't have any luck. I have heard LDAP is pretty good but I have also

When starting X, I have the following error:

Using 16bpp does not solve this problem.

I think I've found the way of having Sound work OK in KDE.
I used a combination of several preexistent methods, based on OSS
redirection to ESD.
I've did it in a test environment, with Debian testing, KDE 3.5.4 and
LTSP 4.2 running on an AMD K7 with 1.5GiB RAM, and an EPATec eTHinClient

regarding the sound of this client I found out (Knoppix live CD, alsaconf)
that it has a built in cs4236 chip.
So I used
SMODULE_01 = snd-cs4236
SMODULE_02 = snd-pcm-oss
in lts.conf (and followed the instructions in the wiki: sound, cards and
work in progress).
