On Windows I used to use an app called friendly pinger and another
called whats up to create a graphical map of which computers are
connected and which are disconnected. Is there an equivalent for
Linux? It doesn't have to be gui but I remember friendly pinger and
whats up were quite intuitive.

Hi Markus,
Thanks! I indeed changes ./mplayer/config which appeared in every
homedir and added these lines:
ao="esd"# or change esd into nasd if you're using it
mixer-channel="Master"
srate=48000
It now works!

or
2) which terminal is in use and by whom
The latter is simple, you just have to parse "who". The first thing was
somewhat trickier, and eventually I used "ps aux" for it. The dra

Hi Francisco,
Maybe hash out these lines in lts.conf;
# X_HORZSYNC = "31-81"
# X_VERTREFRESH = "56-75"
# X_MODE_0 = 1280x1024
# X_COLOR_DEPTH = 16
and see what settings the client takes. Maybe it already works...?
Greetings,
Erwin.
