Xavier,
I have thought about using DRBD for this purpose. And others have
written about this.
(see Building Highly Available LTSP Clusters)

DRBD is essentially RSYNC of two drives across a network.
I have thought that making

May be tsync is what you want.
http://tsyncd.sf.net
Tsync is a user-level daemon that provides transparent synchronization for one
or more data volumes (directory trees) amongst a set of computers. Tsync uses
a peer-to-peer architecture for scalability, efficiency, and robustness,

David,
I don't know where authd is hosted, but you could rebuild the authd
source RPM after downloading it from Fedora's mirrors. IIRC, authd plugs
into xinetd.
No, I'm not using transparent proxy mode. Instead, I firewall the
forwarding of certain ports including 80 and 443. To make things

We use AFS/Lustre for that purpose.
If you just wish to Sync - look at DRBD. However that would leave one of
the servers as read-only.
With AFS you would have to host the FS separately and mount it from the
servers..

Hi all,
Anyone any experience of shared files systems?
I am looking for a system that allows two file systems to be synchronised
between two servers. The files will be users home directories. There needs
to be a good fail over, so that if one disappears, that's okay and there's
minimal data loss.

James,
I'd love to test it, but I'm still in Spain until Sunday. After that,
i'll be swamped with work, trying to catch up from 13 days of travel.
So, don't count on me to do any testing for at least a week or two.
Hopefully someone else can step up and give it a shot before then.

Don't think so at the moment. When we get a chance, we should update
the docs. Like most Free Software projects, it's always more fun to
hack on the code than the d
