it seems to me likte the LDM_REMOTECMD option in
/var/lib/tftp/lts.conf is not working.
In an users home directory I've created an .xsession file which looks
like this:
#!/bin/bash
/usr/bin/opera
and set chmod u+x. Opera is installed and working and it's the correct path.

What's going on if you try with an .Xsession (caps X) file ?

Here, you should put an after the command.

please, I have in my lts.conf (/var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/i386/lts.conf):
[00:C0:4F:8C:3B:CC]
X_MODE_0=1024x786
and res of screen of TC is different from this setting. In older LTSP
4.x this works fine
