Hello. I think you got to make a fresh install. Moving LTSP directory, won't move /home and that directory is Build for your Ubuntu 8.** system. In my case i got a disk with /home, so when i need to upgrade, i just umount /home, save /etc/passwd /etc/gshadow, /etc/gshadow and /etc/group.
