Hi,
We have setup LTSP in Debian Lenny (5.0.4) and all our thin clients are booting
fine.
Now we bought a mainboard (Intel® Desktop Board D945GSEJT) with a Realtek
Ethernet Card.
Output lspci

Wim,
If you are not opposed to using a boot disk you could use gpxe, that is
what I use for all of my non-pxe boot supporting cards. You can go to
etherboot.org and download their software. Version 1.0.0 looks to be the
latest.
It is pretty easy, I use floppys or cd's for mine. For a floppy
His problem isn't with PXE.
His problem is happening AFTER PXE has downloaded the Linux kernel.
It's probably not able to recognize the network card.
I'd try booting that machine from a hard disk or cdrom, and see if the
network card is properly detected and initialized.

I'd guess that your initramfs doesn't contain the module needed for your
card.
So I don't think this is a PXE boot
Many thanks, indead PXE has downloaded the Linux kernel, but is not able
to recognize the network card.
By the way I booted this thin client with
Ubuntu 9.04 Live CD : Network Card was working
Debian 5.0.3 Live CD : Network Card not working
It seems that debian lenny did not include this module
I work for an organization that has 250 Windows XP fat clients spread
out across 36 locations. I'd certainly love to get rid of those. But
I'd like some recommendations on what's doable. Our users don't need
much...just access to an Office Suite and a few web sites. We are
making a radical
I am about to order a server which will be used as a file server for a
mixed windows/linux lan of about 8 stations and as an ltsp server for a
couple of client terminals running on older pc's with plans to end up
with a half dozen client terminals. I was about to order a unit from

Jon,
I am not sure if this would work for you but take a look at

Hi,
From my recent experience, there is only one difference. For i386, you
will need to force the architecture
simply add --arch i386 to the usual command, and you're in business.
Best regards

Ken,
I use 64 bit sun servers that run 64 bit unbuntu vm's in xenserver for
my ltsp servers with all 32 bit clients. All you need to do is make
sure your images are 32 bit images.
when installing and configuring ltsp all you have to do is
ltsp-build-client --arch i386

Hey all!
It's that time of year again! Time to make plans for professional
development and enrichment. Time to reconnect and learn new skills and
ideas. That time is coming...July 7th - 9th at FOSSed 2010! Eight years

Hi all,
Just wanted to let you all know that if you're using Ubuntu 8.04 LTS
(which many of us must) and LTSP, and have wanted to install Audacity
but can't because of PulseAudio/Audacity sound device issues in the
version packaged for 8.04, there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Hello, the list ...
By necessity set up a server running ltsp ltsp-4.2-and 5.0 on the same
server running debian.
I saw that the wiki is no room for a manual dealing with the subject,
but it is empty
(http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/ltsp/index.php?title=Ltsp_Ltsp5SameServerLTSP42).
So I
