Hi Ciberorg,
Hi all,
THX for the quick answer!
We're actually use:
- kiwi-ltsp-prebuild 0.8.4-1.1 (noarch)
- kiwi-ltsp-bootimages 0.8.4-1.1 (noarch)
- kiwi-desc-ltsp 0.8.4-1.1 (noarch)
- ltsp-server 5.2.4-2.1 (i586)
On OpenSuSE 11.3/64
TO DO ..
1. Step
Add LTSP_FATCLIENT=True in lts.conf
I'm trying to set a 1024x768 resolution, but your solution
doesn't change anything.
The thin-client boot, ubuntu load and when the monitor turn off then on
for the ldm screen, it's turn off and not on. I can switch to a console
but I don't have access to the GUI.
Thanks

You mean it did change something, it turned off the screen (presumably
because the timings were too high) instead of giving you 800x600,

create mask that differs from /etc/profile, namely 0022.

hi,
I just want to point out that maybe the problem is with Ubuntu 10.04,
not LTSP.
When i try to use 1024x768 my screen goes black and the system hangs.
I had to stay with Ubuntu 9.10, where some of my monitors (10) are
'recognized' at a higher resolution, but it is still possible to change
it.

And your system doesn't hang when you use another monitor?!
Because AFAIK

But how can this happened, when it was working correctly with ubuntu

Can you somehow boot it with 8.04 and paste the xorg.conf that's used
there, so that we see the exact modeline (timings)?
Yes and in 1024x768
Sorry to bother everyone but I am struggling getting the fat client to
work on Ubuntu 10.04. And I really am in need for local items on the
client to be read and accessed for a software program call Burnin (by.
Passmark). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
after some research i found

after appending

session optional pam_umask.so umask=002
to /etc/pam.d/common-session
its working!
