You can configure the dhcpd.conf to assign IP addresses based on the MAC
address, then you can configure a script to login the assigned IP addresses.

I've been trying to get Local Devices to work with 4.1as well off and on
for a
couple of weeks. Jam sent me the following:

Introduction:
ltsp_localdev provides floppy and cdrom access for ltsp terminals.
It appear that local cdrom/floppy feature is dependent on two libraries
ltsp-glibc and ltsp-ltsptree.
Can this feature be installed on LTSP 4.0?
