Hi All,
Just curious how Ubuntu's movement from Unity to GNOME 3 is likely to
affect the path of ltsp-pnp. I'm pretty sure that the Greek initiative of
ltsp uses MATE which is based on GNOME 2, might there be a change there?
Just wondering if this opens any new possibilities or challenging problems

Guess I've twice left off the -X when sshing into that server! Thanks

Hello,
I've been launching epoptes remotely using ssh -X so that I can remotely
close all discovered clients before rebooting the ltsp server. Been working
great. The issue is that, of the 6 servers I manage, 1 of the 6 throws the

Wow! that was close, almost updated my Firefox this morning. Thanks Alkis.
Now, I just tried the java app in question (ends in .jnlp) on my mac which
has FF v. 52 and get the message "What should Firefox do with this file?"
and I click on "Java Web Start" and it starts! Now this seems to contradic

FWIW, I was unable to get 16.04 Ubuntu fat clients (which is all I'm using)
to authenticate to our district's AD server using PowerBroker Open. I'm
still using 14.04 as I wasn't able to get 16.04 to authenticate.

I suggest we use iframes instead of just links to pages that are maintained

Hi All,
Is there a recommended way to set up a web proxy server for the 14.04 FAT
clients? We use Firefox.
Thanks,

Hi Kentarou, did you record how you set up the LDAP on your system? I've
used likewise open (now powerbroker open) since 2010 to connect my Ubuntu
LTSP server to our districts AD servers. However, this year when I
attempted to switch from 14.04 to 16.04 I was unable to get AD
authentication to work
To make use of the school district's AD I use PowerBroker Open (
https://www.powerbrokeropen.org/) and have been using it since 2010
(formerly called "likewise open"). This software allows me to join the
domain and authenticate to it.

Hi All,
When I try to update the client image on the ltsp-pnp 14.04 server I run:
sudo ltsp-update-image --cleanup /
and the system just hangs: no output. After awhile I press control-c and
then this error message is printed:

Hi Adam,
Maybe this will help? There's a place in the lts.conf file where you can
list those things that are on the server that you don't want put into the

Hi again,
After patching (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ltsp/+bug/1610304) as described
in my just-posted forum e-mail, I got some interesting results with the
logins.
1. I applied patch and rebooted the server (though didn't try to update
ltsp image)
2. Booted a fat client, then tried to l
Hi Folks,
-- I'm using ltsp-pnp Ubuntu 16.01.
-- Just joined the server to the district AD server Using Open PowerBroker
(formerly Likewise Open--been doing this since 2010)
-- can no longer log into clients with local clients either.
To begin to address this problem I patched /usr/share/ldm/rc.
Hi Luis,
Are you using a Thin client LTSP setup?

Anyone know if there is a way to get a spreadsheet of the info that pops up

Hi LTSP folks!
First post here. I recently saw on ubuntu.com website (link with pertinent
text pasted below) in their announcement of 16.04.1. Wonder how Unity under
low graphics mode works compared to Mate. Am leaning towards Mate since
it's quick AND used in Greek schools (so more supported). Bu
