Hello,

I have 2 problems:

1. When I try to create a boot image, it doesn't work.
I use the config file of the latest initrd package, I use the buildk script,
I habve mknbi-linux 1.2-7. The initrd-image gets much too large compared
with the one in the kit (bost 2.4.18 kernel). kit: 700kb mine: 2100kb. The
bzImages are equally sized.
When I try to boot the image I got from buildk (after imggen was used on
it), I get the error:
Kernel panic - try to pass init option...
With the standard kernel it works just fine. So it must be a problem with
the boot image.

Then I used mknbi-linux on the initrd + the kernel (2.4.18-ltsp-1) with the
options the buildk script uses for mknbi. Guess what. It also doesn't work.
This time it wouldn't take the nfs as root (the server accepts the request -
but thats it).

I have no clue where the problem is.

2. I have a sound-card that is not supported by the standard kernel drivers,
but by alsa. So I tried to compile alsa for the standard 2.4.18 kernel
(while I use a SUSE SMP 2.4.18 kernel). The compilation works. But when I try to
load the modules for my soundcard (Terratec 512i) via the lts.conf, I get an
error message by modprobe:
something like:
The module is compiled for kernel 2.4.18 while I use kernel 2.4.18-ltsp-1.
Don't exactly know what the difference may be... but modprobe knows better.

A hint for one problem would be enough. Because they both aim at the sound
issue.

thx
