[Ltsp-discuss] Change resolution with Xfree86 XVGA

Hi all,

I have a Compaq laptop running on LTSP, but I can't get a better resolution than 640 * 400.
The two main settings are :
--------------------------------------------
X_COLOR_DEPTH = 8
X_MODE_0 = 640*480 28.32 640 664 704 832 480 489 492 520 +hsync +vsync
--------------------------------------------
with this setting I get a 640*480 virtual screen size, but I have only 640*400 real size. It means that I have all bottom windows outside of the screen ... !!! Not a pleasure to use :(

With this :
--------------------------------------------
X_COLOR_DEPTH = 8
X_MODE_0 = 640*480 28.32 640 664 704 832 400 440 480 588 +hsync +vsync

I have now a 640*400 screen (virtual and real !). But Kde in this resolution is very hard to use ... So I don't understand why I can't get a plain 640*480 resolution. BTW, I have not this problem with windows 95 : I have a plain 640*480 resolution.

Any idea ?
