Just as an other information point.

When I shut off both the ip6tables and the firestarter services my workstation which was previously hanging on looking for a DHCP server worked like a charm (like it has for the paste several months before I set up the firewall). So I do not understand why the firewall will prevent this workstation from booting when I explicitly tell the firewall to accept all connections from this machine.

(I have also explicitly set up the firewall to allow DHCP from all machines and to allow bootps from all mahcines and still no results).
