I'm reporting a problem with Ubuntu's 6.10 LTSP 5 and a specific make of Linksys Network card:
LNE 100 TX v5.1 I've used the Etherboot 5.2.2-LC82c115 to boot these cards in the LTSP 4.1 and 4.2 systems just fine. Under LTSP 5 I'm getting a pause between 2 and 4 minutes right after these lines: Amtek Comet rev 17 IRQ 11 eth0: Setting full-duplex based on MII#1 Link Partner Capability of 41e1 The Ethernet cables are good. I've swapped out NICs replacing the Linksys with an Intel 100 EEPro with a corresponding Etherboot floppy and these only wait about 2 seconds at the same point in the bootup procedure. I should note that once these Linksys cards eventually get past this point in the bootup procedure, they work fine. I just ran an ifconfig on the eth0 device and the only clues of something wrong are: TX frames 699009 Errors=2 Carrier=4 Otherwise everything looks good. I had bought 20 of these NICs in the past specifically so I wouldn't have to make up so many different Etherboot images for various machines around the office. I'd be glad to ship one to someone who works on this issue. -Joe Baker ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys. Earn Cash.
