Sure, that would be neat - I mentioned that in a previous message. You could write a script that waits for a USB drive to automount, then uses a SSH private keyfile to authenticate to the server. You can skip the display manager, and go right into the session. X11 forwarding will handle most eve

IMHO it is very user friendly though... Sun's SunRay terminals use smart card technology that handles the login/logout process. The user just has to worry about keeping a smart card on them. The terminal can ALSO be accessed using passwords. I saw a demo of them once and was really impress
