Hello List, Because of requirements set by my employer I am forced to attempt to find a solution to the following situation. Rather than having LTS boot to a standard login, they would like to have it either run an appliction that kicks off a windows terminal session (rdesktop -f servername). or

Keith, There are various ways to accomplish this. One way would be to configure your display manager (GDM,KDM) to perform an auto login. Then, you can add the rdesktop command to the users .Xclients file. Another thing you could do, is wait until we release LTSP v3.1, which will make it real

You can also place a script as the 'shell' in /etc/passwd, though there are security implications (ie, can they get out of the shell etc). You have to add your script to the /etc/shells file. Jim Wildman, CISSP
