Peter,
Do you know for certain that the workstation knows its own hostname?
You can test it by setting SCREEN_01 = shell, and at the bash prompt,
typing 'hostname'.
Try putting the X_MODE_0 line up in the [Default] section, just to see
if it has any effect.
Also, what resolution are you getting

I am trying to get one of my LTSP clients to use a resolution of
1280x1024 - but I'm unable to get the client to use this resolution.
