Xultz,
You need to edit the /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf file.
Way down near the bottom of that file is a line
that looks like this:
# 0=/usr/bin/X11/X
You just need to uncomment that line and restart gdm.

I have a machine with Mandrake 8,2 to act as a ltsp server.
When in init 5, it loads X and go to login screen from gdm.
Then I installed ltsp rpm's, and now it enters in init 5, loads
gdm in background but does not load X anymore. When I
did a X -query localhost it goes to X and login
