I have set up a couple workstations with sound and they seem to be working
fine.

To work a user needs to be in audio group.
We have a lots of users, 5 ltsp servers and authenticate via ldap.
For the tests have just added user to local audio group.

Only expect to have a small percentage of the workstations to have sound
support. But some of these workstations will need to work with sound for
anyone.

For fuse have modified it to use a localdev group that is defined in ldap.
We want to restrict who can access local devices for security reasons.

Does restricting the audio group help security in any way?

Should be less work to modify the permissions of the audio devices than to
add everone to audio group.

Also why do my postings list me as UNTRUSTED?

John
