im using Redhat7.0 .. i downloaded the kernel 2.4.17 from ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub... and i did build it up (i wasn't thinking on LTS)by the time. and after booting my new kernel and looking for ISAPNP it made a big mess !!! because sndconfig on RH didnt find some ?????.o files my question is if building my own kernel for WS would have the same problem...? i got some ideas ... i saw that my new compiled kernel wrote down some files at ../modules/2.4.17 .. if it be the case that i want a pure linux ..not RH-linux but linux for my WSs should i attach them to /opt/lts/i386 (actually i want K7 ).and that would be it?.. is there any non RH tools to config sound, networking ISAPNP that would be good for WS in this case.
thanks beforehand for answers.. SBBACKK _______________________________________________________________ Have big pipes? SourceForge.net is looking for download mirrors. We supply the hardware.
