Steps to setting up an IBM 8361-100.

>From a windows machine.
1. Download nsmsetup.exe from
http://techsupport.services.ibm.com/nc/pcserver/index2.shtml
2. Use PKZIP to extract the .exe file. If you run the .exe it will attempt
to install LOTS of junk on your hard drive.

On your Linux machine.
1. Create a directory /netstation
2. copy the prodbase directory and all subdirectories (from the pkzip
extract) from your windows machine to /netstation
3. VERIFY that the directory structure looks like this

    /netstation/prodbase/(directories under prodbase)

4. Install NFS if it is not already running.
5. In /etc/exports add:

    /netstation/prodbase xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx(rw)

where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the ip address of the netstation.

6. Restart NFS

On the 8361-100
Set the Boot Parameters as follows:
Boot File : kernel
TFTP Directory :
NFS Boot Directory : /netstation/prodbase/
Configuration file : standard.nsm
Configuration Directory : configs
TFTP Order : 2
NFS Order : 1

Reboot the 8361 and it should download the kernel, switch to a gui, and give
you a chooser for selecting the server to connect to.

I have not had time to figure out the configuration to have it automatically
connect to a specific machine.

A GREAT link that really helped me is :
http://bluedry.dhs.org/howtos/NC-HOWTO.shtml

Hope this helps.

Robert
