theKompany released today a free (as in beer; no charge for the
download) Ogg Vorbis format CD ripper. Binaries for several Linux and a
few MS versions are available.
The announcement mailing list for theKompany has t
cool, thanks. I'll try that. I'm also using the framebuffer, which
doesn't like to change modes. So I'll try the real nvidia driver too.
xvidtune doesn't work because of the fb.

Anyone know how to change this without knowing how to
change clock lines of an XF86config file
Try add "VirtRefresh 76" or something similar to the Monitor section of
your
XF86Config file.
(in other words don't give it a range. just give it one value to use)

There are two RHCE people over at Waikele. I just never had the pleasure of
meeting them. But from what I
understand, it took them two years to acheive their RHCE even with the 10
years of Unix and 3 years of Linux/Opensource experience. They mentioned
how the certification material was obsolete
Anyone know of an easy way to set monitor refresh rates? I just
installed mandrake, told it I can use up to 76Hz, and it set my monitor
to 60 Hz. It flashes and hurts my eyes. Anyone know how to change this
without knowing how to change clock lines of an XF86config file or
whatever?

I'd recommend taking the class, the books are outdated. No way I would've
passed without taking the class.
good luck!

The material was well covered, the instructor was knowledgeable, and the exam
was rough.
Do you remember any of the questions? I'd be interested in knowing the
type of stuff they ask.
(I'm not much for certifications though, so I doubt I would ever take
it... just curious)

Yup, he said he passed. I think that makes him the first Hawaii local
with RHCE... unless there's some military dude that got it first.
hi,
I'm getting ready to schedule my test up in Austin in another month or so,
i've been studying using the RHCE Book from Osborne and some of the
Lab/Course books from the actual redhat classes. Do you recommend that i
actually take the Classes ? I've been doing installing and administring R.H.

You can either
add him to hosts.deny,
or add
his.ip.here.reject
to your access file in /etc/mail you can do custom reject messages too. If
its an ISP you know you wont get alot of traffic from just block the whole
ip-block.
Best way to kill attempted relaying so is to use Cyrus sa
I use this test all the time:

Hiya,
Still getting used to my new RH 7.3 setup, and was wondering about some
logwatch entries I've been getting.
I see entries in logwatch showing a lot of mail for unknown users. They
have what appear to be random names with my domain attached to the end.
There was a whole slew of them all g
Does this mean you have your RHCE??

I'd really like to believe that prominent people _choose_ Linux and
Apache, but often it is just because their virtual host provider uses
it.

No one would have thought Ed Case would have come so close. One of the
reasons for his (near) success? His web page and server are running on
Linux.
