I am wanting to generate a human-readable list of my
iTunes library. The export from iTunes creates a very
busy file as seen below. Is anyone familiar enough with
SED to share how to extract name, artist, and album from
the exported file?
i think the file is in a type of csv format,

I was working on a file server that I obtained from HOSEF about 2 years ago.
It runs Fedora Core 2.6.7, and has two hard drives in a RAID system (I think
RAID-0). Using a live CD I ran the command e2fsck -ckv /dev/md0. It seemed to
work, but there was a message that said something like date of
The RR servers are in Orange County CA and Oakland CA. The others are local.
Even if this is the case, what is causing the slowness? Windows and Mac systems
don't seem to suffer from the problem. Is it a problem with the way the
nameservers are configured? or is it a problem with Linux or
On Ubuntu and Mepis systems I was getting slow internet response using
Roadrunner. The name resolution seemed to take nearly a minute. I tried
changing the default nameservers and that made a difference. It was faster with
the lava.net, hawaiiantel.net and flex.com nameservers, and slower with
I forgot to mention that the connection works fine out of the box. The setup is

I recently signed up for DSL service and found that the setup CD only works
under Windows. The solution is to visit mac.hawaiiantel.net and sign up for an
account there. It works with any operating system. This should also work for
anyone who had a verizon account and can't access their

you can try.
When you turn on the computer, before lilo starts, you should see a message
that says Press F1 for setup or something like that. Press the appropriate
key and wait for the setup screen to appear. Then
I can be there from about 10 to 2 and help with loading and disassembing. I see
that Computers for Kids only takes 17 inch monitors. I'd be interested in
smaller monitors for USH if some can be salvaged. I'll ask James Jones if he
can bring the car.

Problem solved. I just changed the umask=002 in the /etc/auto.misc file to
umask=000. I think that should be OK for a desktop machine in someone's home.
Now I can read and write to floppy and read the CD from Kword without a mount
command.

I am currently preparing a number of used computers for home users who are

on them. I've been trying to get the floppy and cdrom to
