After I posted I realized that I didn't state it was a SCSI drive. We tried that and also /dev/nst0 and /dev/qft0 and /dev/ftape (which points to /dev/qft0). No dice. On the boot of the system, we checked the /var/log/messages file and we do see /dev/st0 being recognized, but when we try to acce

Can someone give me information about connecting a tape drive to Red Hat 7.2, 7.3 or 8.0. We can't seem to get it to work and information is hard to find. The server is a Compaq and the tape drive is also Compaq. Compaq says information can be found on Linux sites. _
